A1(B1)Comprehensive Course - Master how to pronounce and write the Chinese pronunciation system (Pinyin) which includes initials, finals, tones, syllables, neutral tone, tone sandhi, etc. Master about 500 commonly used words, can read about 300 Chinese characters, can write more than 100 commonly used Chinese characters. Master about 40 basic grammar points. Communicate in simple sentences and paragraphs on the topics of greeting, inquiring, shopping, exchanging money, introducing, seeing a doctor, congratulating, planning, explaining things, etc..Read about 300 words passages concerning the topics have been learned. Write about 100 words narrative passages on the topics of my friends, my life in Shanghai, etc. Listen and understand slow and clearly articulated basic conversations concerning daily topics such as greeting, exchanging money, introducing, seeing a doctor, congratulating, planning, etc.

A1(B1)Listening and Speaking Course: Complete the basic phonetic training to cement the foundation of Pinyin pronunciations. Communicate in simple conversations and short paragraphs concerning the most basic daily topics in daily life, study and social activities. Master more than 500 commonly used oral words. Have a good master of more than 30 commonly used oral patterns. Express certain informal daily topics, such as self-introduction, greeting, numbers, directions, buying stuff, making a call, talking about the weather, talking about study and life, asking the way, having a meal, ordering the food, asking people for help, talking about the test, seeing a doctor, talking about the hobbies, travelling etc. Listen and understand slow and clearly articulated basic conversations concerning daily topics as self-introduction, greeting, numbers, directions, buying stuff, making a call, talking about the weather, talking about study and life, asking the way, having a meal, ordering the food, asking people for help, talking about the test, seeing a doctor, talking about the hobbies, travelling etc.

A1+ Comprehensive course: Listen and understand simply sentences and dialogues when people speak slowly and clearly. Use simple sentences to make dialogues or talk about the topic about everyday life, shopping experience, birthday party and feelings, one’s hobby, simple locations, the means of transport and travel, expressing one’s intention and willingness, life and experience in Shanghai, weather and seasons, experience in Shanghai. Read short diaries, stories, jokes, etc. Write 100 words passages according to the teaching activities, such as to introduce the sports meeting, one’s hometown, one’s life experience, and so on.

A1+ Listening and Speaking Course: Listen and understand slow and clear articulated dialogues and passages on daily life such as birthday, shopping, Chinese learning, traffic transportation, seeing a doctor when you are sick, and so on. Complete simple conversations and short paragraphs accurately on the topics of introducing and knowing each other, shopping, problems and solutions of Chinese learning, personal preferences and habits, eating habits, how to make Chinese dim sum such as dumplings, weather briefing and problems of environmental pollution, moving house and home decoration, movies and plays, beauty and hairdressing, appearance description, seeing a doctor when you are sick, looking for a boyfriend or girlfriend, etc.

A2 Comprehensive Course: Listen and understand clear and standard simple sentences and dialogues. Communicate in long conversations and paragraphs with the accurate words and grammars on the topics of comparison of population and weather between two places, music, weather and seasons, describing what happened during the journey, talking about traditional Chinese medicine, life, work and study experience and how to study Chinese, introducing one’s hobby, wedding process and customs, Festival and New Year customs, describing someone’s bad luck, talking about opera, describing mountain climbing, talking about vacation plans, and so on. Read 500 - word passages in a limited time concerning the simple and revised Chinese ancient stories, idiom stories, interesting life stories, short letters, etc. Write short essays of 150- 200 words according to teaching activities on the topic of narrations of a sports meeting, favorite foods in Shanghai, the experience of events or accidents such as bad experience or unforgettable trips.

A2 Listening and Speaking Course: Listen and understand close to normal speed and clearly articulated dialogues and short passages on the topics of buying a house, introduction of boy or girl friends, weather, habits, travel, family, taxi driver, learning Chinese and computer, simple fables, children's education and nurturing, reading habits, aging society issues, chopsticks, love stories, and so on. Complete simple conversations and short paragraphs in an almost accurate and fluent way on the topics of introduction of vacation, hometown, sports(tell the game process briefly), traffic(compare the similarities and differences between countries), festival(some of China's most important holiday), ordering a menu freely and giving simple comments about the restaurant and the taste of the dishes, education (compare the similarities and differences between countries ), discussing of the values of love, Chinese people's daily life and habits, looking for a job (personal work plan in the future), wedding customs of Chinese people, housing, comparing the pros and cons of urban and rural life, travel experiences, life experience of studying abroad, and so on.

A2+ Comprehensive Course: Listen and understand the sentences and dialogues in a normal speed. Communicate in long conversations and paragraphs with the accurate words and grammars on the topics of Festival and New Year customs, bad luck, opera, climbing, vacation plans, desires and ideals, life in Shanghai, four seasons, culture and customs of Chinese people when getting along with people , etc.. Read 500 -600 words passages in a limited time concerning the simple and revised Chinese ancient stories, idiom stories, interesting life stories, etc. Write short essays of 200 words according to teaching activities on the topic of narrations of travel plans, an activity class, the four seasons in Shanghai, China in the eyes of oneself and so on.

A2 + Listening and Speaking Course: Listen and understand the normal speed and clearly articulated dialogues and short passages on the topics of interpersonal communication habits, how to treat guests, neighborhood relations, cultural differences, Chinese food culture and habits, gifting culture, marriage, differences between men and women, family, children's education, leisure activities, etc. Have a basic daily communication with Chinese. Complete simple conversations and short paragraphs in an almost accurate and fluent way on the topics of introduction of others and self-introduction, talking about the similarities and differences of lifestyle between China and your country, Chinese learning, transportation and travel, views about Chinese traffic, modern communication styles, looking for a house, to rent and buy a house, introducing etiquettes of being a guests in different countries, a recipe of a Chinese dish and food cultures of China and other nations, learning methods of spoken language, traditional festivals of China and home country, traveling experience, personal weekend life in Shanghai, almost complete narration of a unforgettable thing.

A3 Reading and Writing Course: After learning 1370 new words (including nearly 200 key words and discriminations of 50 pairs of synonym),students can understand the different semantic meaning and grasp the usage of the 1370 new words, and then increase their Chinese vocabulary size to 2300, by combining with the morphology, context and communication closely. Student can read short stories that reflect overseas student’s daily life, job-hunting and employment fluently;can read narrative writings that reflect different types of love between friends and lovers;can read Chinese idioms;can read argumentative writings about happiness,success and inspiration. Students are expected to write narrations about seasons in their own countries, a funny thing, a white lie,and write argumentations to discuss what i a success.

A3 Speaking Course: Communicate with Chinese people deeply with a degree of fluency and accuracy in paragraphs concerning the topics of life, study, work, society, culture from the textbooks with certain preparation and others’ prompt. The topics are as follow, give some pieces of advice, talk about a popular way of doing morning exercises, the toil of a kind of job occupation, introduce a favorite book, comment on football matches, introduce their own hobbies and favorite TV channels, recommend a daily diet of three nutritious meals, introduce the styles of clothing, talk about the ideal lover and the concept of consumption, and plan an itinerary, etc. Master 489 spoken words and 58 spoken sentence patterns accurately in appropriate contexts. Grasp the knowledge of how to pronounce neutral tone, er-suffixation, accent, directional complement, adjective duplication, and onomatopoeia; can use high-frequency expressions of greetings and congratulations, when in trouble or in tour, etc.

A3 Listening Course: Listen and understand daily conversations and short stories in normal speed about familiar topics such as the way of Chinese people to give presents, the custom of welcome and seeing off the guests, secrets between male and female,marriage,neighbor,high expectations of children and some professional ones as how to improve one’s efficiency in study, how to lose weight, how to do advertisement, principle of giving Chinese names. Apply skip and guess skills to obtain the important information for the purpose of improving the accuracy in listening exercises.

A3+ Reading and Writing Course: After learning 1500 new words (including nearly 200 key words and discriminations of 50 pairs of synonym),students can understand the different semantic meaning and grasp the usage of the 1500 new words, and then increase their Chinese vocabulary size to 2500, by combining with the morphology, context and communication closely. Student can read short stories that reflect overseas student’s daily life, job-hunting and employment fluently;can read narrative writings that reflect different types of love between family members, friends, and lovers;can read Chinese idioms and folk legends;can read argumentative writings about happiness,success and inspiration;can read expository writing related to emotional quotient (EQ) and colors. Student are expected to write narrations about someone’s pet phrase, a white lie and the love from parents,and write argumentations to discuss what is success.

A3+ Speaking Course: Communicate with Chinese people deeply with a degree of fluency and accuracy in paragraphs concerning the topics of the cultures of different countries and their experiences in adapting to the new environment, to order food in Chinese restaurant, to summarize the dietary feature of their homeland, to introduce one dish and its cooking method, to share experiences of learning foreign languages and their campus life with others, to express their viewpoints of love and marriage, to write a CV and take a job interview, to discuss the equality between the sexes, to state their personal opinion on cosmetic surgery, to discuss the urban traffic problems, to explain their favorite transportation mode and reasons, to design a tourist route and introduce the route to the others, to indicate some environmental problems and discuss how to become a environmentalist start from minor matters in daily life, and to recommend a more healthy physical exercise. Master 699 spoken words and 58 spoken sentence patterns accurately in appropriate contexts.

A3+ Listening Course: Listen and understand daily conversations and short stories in normal speed about familiar topics such as secrets between male and female,marriage,neighbor,high expectations of children,the tailor makes the man,rent and purchase apartments, and some professional topics as how to improve one’s efficiency in study, how to lose weight, how to do advertisement, principle of giving Chinese names, environmental protection, Chinese dietary habit in season. Apply skip and guess skills to obtain the important information for the purpose of improving the accuracy in listening exercises.

A4 Reading and Writing Course: Read and understand the specialized topics such as the reasons for coming to China, to describe changes and development, to notice and describe the beauties around them, to discuss the relation between human and nature, between food and region, how to develop low carbon economic, how to promote their target brands, the reasons why people change their consumption model, how to challenge the limits of human, and how to carry on the pioneering spirit. Use the half argumentation and half narration method to logically write argumentation and exposition to discuss the above-mentioned topics in appropriate written languages and formal structures of paragraphs. Can almost read the articles from newspapers and journals fluently by inference the meanings of vocabulary without checking dictionaries.

A4 Listening and Speaking: Discuss most daily topics freely without any preparation in normal speed. After preparation and other’s prompt, students can express the following topics in the textbook without any notes, which include how to explain the reasons for coming to China, to describe changes and development, to notice and describe the beauties around them, to discuss the relation between human and nature, between food and region, how to develop low carbon economic, how to promote their target brands, the reasons why people change their consumption model, how to challenge the limits of human, and how to carry on the pioneering spirit. Students can present these topics logically, appropriately, accurately, and almost without any grammatical mistakes. Listen and understand the TV programs of Interview or debates, talk shows, documentaries and news, which are related to the above-mentioned topics. In addition,students can grasp the conversation strategies to achieve effective communication by using standard and proper Chinese through the imitation training, paraphrase practice and discussion.

A5 Reading and Writing Course: Read and understand main ideas of current news and discussions on 12 hot topics of social concerns,which include crossing-cultural life, immigration and racial integration, diversity and uniqueness of cultures, religious belief and public life, equality between the sexes, educational concept, urban design, technology changes daily life, environmental issues, media and interpersonal relationship, aging issues and two-child policy, how to promote people's value, and how to increase the sense of happiness. Write 600-word logical, structured, detailed argumentations in appropriate style concerning the topics of equality between the sexes, equal pay for equal work, how to protect the historic buildings in urban design, environmental protection, the impacts of science and technology on human. In addition, students are required to abbreviate 2500-word articles related to the above-mentioned topics to 600-word short essays. Complete reading a Chinese book (mainly a novel) and write a 3000-word logical, structured, detailed report in appropriate style.

A5 Listening and Speaking Course: Express fluently and spontaneously their own opinions without much obvious searching for expressions on 12 hot topics of social concern,which include crossing-cultural life, immigration and racial integration, diversity and uniqueness of cultures, religious belief and public life, equality between the sexes, educational concept, urban design, technology changes daily life, environmental issues, media and interpersonal relationship, aging issues and two-child policy, how to promote people's value, and how to increase the sense of happiness. There are no obvious improper vocabulary and grammar mistakes. Listen and understand the debates, talk shows, documentaries and news from TV programs or Internet concerning the above-mentioned topics. In addition,students can grasp the conversation strategies to achieve efficient communication by using standard and proper Chinese, through the imitation training, paraphrase practice and discussion. Complete reading a Chinese book (mainly a novel) and present a logical, structured, detailed description or argumentation on this book.

C1/D1 Comprehensive Chinese: Read characters with pinyin. Have basic knowledge of characters and can write/type frequently-used Chinese characters. Listen and understand daily conversations at a slow speed and with clear pronunciation, such as introductions, shopping, ordering food, seeing a doctor and asking the way, etc. Use simple vocabulary and grammar structures to introduce yourself, family members and job. Communicate in simple phrases and sentences in shops, restaurants, hospitals and banks, etc. Read simple personal information, time arrangements, instructions, notes, etc. Write short and simple paragraphs on the topics of personal and family introduction, shopping, ordering food, seeing a doctor, going somewhere, etc.

C2 Comprehensive Chinese: Listen and understand slow and clearly-articulated daily conversations on the topics of dealing with daily issues at the bank/post office, renting a house, making a phone call, buying something, asking for directions etc. Use simple phrases and sentences when exchange money at the bank, send a parcel at the post office, get a library card, buy air tickets, rent a house, visit a patient. With preparation and prompts, Students are able to talk about hobbies, a brief description of a race, a description of the four seasons, describe life changes, introduce a trip, introduce the New Year customs, describe a movie, tell how something is happening. Read simple information forms, rental ads. Understand short essays of a brief introduction of the city, a humorous story, an idiom story, the story of famous novel etc.. Write short essays of introduction a trip, the New Year, a simple description of life changes according to the given words.

C3 Comprehensive Chinese: Listen and understand conversations at a slow speed concerning cultural differences, description of room furnishings, leisure and introduction of famous scenic sites. Communicate with local Chinese on daily topics in paragraphs. With some preparations and prompts, students can introduce custom differences of dietary and gift giving between the East and the West, Chinese dining habits, purchase attitudes comparison between the young and the elderly, do brief description on room furnishings, discuss personal habits and leisure, talk about climate as well as brief introduction on countries or famous scenic sites, tell a complete story. Read fluently simple fairy tales, celebrities’ stories, expository articles about geography , simple poetry stories. Write articles of introducing countries, comparing differences between East and West, description of stories and tales and introduction of climates.

C4 Comprehensive Chinese: Listen and understand discussion about daily activities and description on Chinese culture in a medium speed, such as female social status and right, employment issues, Chinese new year customs, job interview, child education issues, graduate employment and one-child policy, etc. Present clear and detailed descriptions of a wide range of subjects of daily issues or fields of interests without preparation. With preparations and prompts, briefly discuss topics about female social status and right, employment issues, introduce Chinese New Year customs, and simulate job interview, child education issues, graduate employment and one-child policy. Read almost fluently on simple romance novel, social status progression for Chinese female, celebrities’ stories, articles of changes in China market, short story on Philosophy and idiom, articles about birth concept and Chinese medicine theory. Write formal employment cover letters, unforgettable personal experience with given words or phrases. Express viewpoints in almost logical and well-structured way on woman’s right, employment, education and one-child policy.

C5 Comprehensive Chinese: Listen and understand daily topics at a normal speed, and short story of Philosophy, legends, pub culture, health and married life at a medium speed. With preparations and prompts, express opinions concerning intergenerational relationships, vegetarianism and diet, married life and equality of men and women, personal privacy and pet caring in appropriate language style. Introduce almost fluently about unexpected event, accident, romance novel, cook method and flavorof food, unique customs of a city or country. Read almost fluently on prose about Mother and Child relationship, news report, romance novel, eating habits in China, city life, environmental protection, married life, keeping pet, simple poem and article from famous novel “Journey of the West”. Use formal language style to write essays on family condition under different culture background, romance and marriage customs, dietary habit and culture, city development and traffic condition, equality of men and women. Write argumentative articles on topics of environmental and animal protection.

E1 Comprehensive Chinese: Read characters with pinyin. Have basic knowledge of characters and can write/type frequently-used Chinese characters. Listen and understand slow and clear-articulated daily conversations such as greetings、introducing yourself、talking about one’s job、expressions of time、shopping、asking the way、ordering the food、making a telephone call. Communicate in simple sentences concerning introducing personal information(name、telephone number、address、nationality),greeting people、talking about work(email address、busy or not)、expressing the time. Use accurate sentences to communicate in the context of go shopping、give the location、order food、make an appointment, etc. Read simple personal information, time arrangement, notice, note, etc. Use accurate words and structures to write daily essays on introduction of family and life, etc.

E2 Business Chinese: Listen and understand slow and clear-articulated daily conversations such as talking about the weather and hobbies、seeing the doctor、renting house、withdrawing money、booking a room,etc. Correctly express the requirements of renting a house and seeing a doctor. Communicate in the context of depositing and withdrawing money、booking a room in the hotel. Simply talk about the weather、sports and hobbies. Read business related contents on simple ads, shopping websites, schedule, etc. Write short articles on daily life such as the introduction of the seasons, activities arrangement, introduction of hobbies, etc.

E3 Business Chinese: Listen and understand slow conversations and statements in the business context, such as visiting factories, business negotiations, claims, recruitment and interview. Communicate with the Chinese people on daily topics without any preparation. Complete basic communication in the business contexts with some prompts, such as visiting factories, business negotiations, payment methods, claims, sign contract, recruitment, and interview. Simply describe the company management, enterprise changes and other contents within a short time of preparation. Read simple practical business articles such as contracts, recruitment ads and claims. Use assigned words to write business articles such as contracts, recruitment notices etc.

G1 Teaching Objectives: Master Chinese phonetic pronunciation skills, and can spell and read Chinese Pinyin correctly. Recognize strokes, stroke orders, frequently-used radicals and their meanings of Chinese characters. Write more than 900 commonly-used Chinese characters and tell their meanings. Communicate and express in simple sentences and paragraphs concerning daily topics such as shopping, weather, asking the direction, seeing a doctor, hobbies and habits, family and study. Read 300 words narrative paragraphs, and write the similar essays in 150 - 200 words. Understand Chinese culture of daily life and apply them into realty. Successfully pass HSK3 Test.

G2 Teaching Objectives: Reduce foreign accents gradually, and produce native like pronunciations. Read and write more than 1000 new words. Distinguish about 20 synonyms. Read a narrative or an expository essay in about 600 words, and write an article about 300 words. Communicate almost fluently on the topics of studying abroad, making friends and amativeness, job-seeking, and life philosophy, etc. Listen and understand Idioms, some special expressions and tones in Chinese daily life and can use them properly. Understand the national conditions and current status of China. Understand up to date new words and expressions on the web. Successfully receive 180 points out of 300 points on HSK5 Test.
